Myndy

Connect Myndy to Claude (MCP)

Manage office hours and read or send texts from Claude. Add the Myndy connector, sign in once, and ask in plain words.

What this is

The Myndy connector lets you run parts of your Myndy account by chatting with Claude. Instead of opening the dashboard, you ask:

  • “Are my office hours on?”
  • “We're open until 7 on Fridays now.”
  • “Any unread texts today?”
  • “Text +1 555 123 4567 that their order is ready.”

Claude reads or changes your Myndy data and tells you what it did.

It is built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open standard Claude uses to connect to outside tools. You don't need to know anything about MCP to use it. You add one URL and sign in once.

  1. You

Ask in plain words, like “Close on Sundays.”

  2. Claude

Picks the right Myndy tool and fills it in.

  3. Myndy connector

    mcp.myndy.ai/connect

Checks your sign-in and acts only on the workspace you chose.

  4. Your Myndy workspace

    Office hours, conversations and texts.

Claude never sees your password or your Myndy API key. It only talks to the connector, which acts on the one workspace you picked.

Setup timeAbout two minutes

Before you start

You need:

  1. A Myndy account you can log in to at myndy.ai, with email and password or Google. Apple sign-in and email-code login aren't available on the connector yet, see If you sign in another way.
  2. A workspace you own. Workspaces someone else shared with you can't be connected yet.
  3. A Claude plan that allows custom connectors. Check Claude's settings: if you see Add custom connector under Connectors, you're set. On Team and Enterprise plans an owner or admin may need to add it for the organization.

For the office-hours switch to turn on, an AI agent must be connected to your number in Myndy (Business Numbers, or the agent picker on the Communications page), the same rule as in the dashboard. To send texts, the workspace needs a Myndy phone number.

Connect

Open Connectors

In Claude, go to Settings → Connectors, then choose Add custom connector (on some plans it's under Add → Custom connector).

Enter the Myndy details

FieldValue
NameMyndy (anything you'll recognise)
MCP server URLhttps://mcp.myndy.ai/connect

If Claude shows advanced options, keep the defaults it detects:

  • Authentication: Sign in now
  • OAuth client: Register automatically
  • Request headers: leave empty

Sign in to Myndy

Press Connect. A Myndy sign-in page opens in your browser at mcp.myndy.ai. Log in with Continue with Google or your email and password.

Choose a workspace

If you own more than one workspace, pick the one Claude should manage. If you own only one, this step is skipped.

Done

You're returned to Claude and Myndy shows as connected. In a new chat, make sure Myndy is switched on in the tools menu of the message box, then ask something like “What are my office hours?”

Add the connector from your terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http myndy https://mcp.myndy.ai/connect

Then, inside Claude Code:

  1. Run /mcp.
  2. Select myndy → Authenticate.
  3. Sign in to Myndy in the browser window that opens, and pick a workspace.

Add --scope user to the first command to make Myndy available in every project, not just the current folder.

Any app that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in and streamable HTTP can use the connector:

  • Server URL: https://mcp.myndy.ai/connect
  • Authentication: OAuth 2.1 with dynamic client registration and PKCE. The app discovers everything from https://mcp.myndy.ai/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/connect.

No API key or custom header is needed.

What happens when you sign in

  1. 1Claude

    Registers with Myndy

Happens automatically the first time you press Connect.

  2. 2Browser

    Opens the Myndy sign-in page

On mcp.myndy.ai. Check the address bar before typing your password.

  3. 3Myndy

    Checks who you are

Email and password, or Continue with Google: the same login as myndy.ai.

  4. 4Browser

    You pick a workspace

Skipped when you only own one.

  5. 5Myndy

    Creates a dedicated access key

Limited to what the tools need. It shows up in Tools → API keys.

  6. 6Claude

    Receives a sign-in token

Short-lived and renewed automatically. Your password never reaches Claude.

You only do this once per connection. Claude renews access in the background until you disconnect.

Always check the address

The sign-in page is always on mcp.myndy.ai and looks like the Myndy login. If a page asking for your Myndy password is on any other address, close it.

What you can do

The connector gives Claude nine tools. You don't call them by name, Claude picks the right one from what you ask.

ToolWhat it doesTry askingChanges data?
get_office_hoursShows whether office hours are on, the timezone, and each day's hours“Show my office hours.”No
set_office_hours_enabledTurns office hours on or off“Turn office hours on.”Yes
update_office_hoursChanges opening times, closed days and the timezone“Open 8 to 6 on weekdays, closed Sunday.”Yes
list_conversationsLists your SMS conversations, newest first; can show only unread or unanswered“Who's waiting for a reply?”No
get_conversationReads the messages with one contact“What did +1 555 123 4567 say last?”No
send_smsSends a text from your Myndy number“Text +1 555 123 4567: we're open till 7 today.”Yes, sends a real text
get_settingsShows your communication settings: connected agent, Autopilot, recording, forwarding, notifications, missed-call text-back“Is call recording on?”No
list_agentsLists the AI agents you can connect and which one answers now“Which agent is answering my calls?”No
update_settingsChanges one or more of those settings“Forward my calls to +1 555 987 6543.”Yes

Texts are real

send_sms delivers to a real phone and shows up in your Myndy inbox, just like a message you send from the dashboard. Claude asks you to confirm before using tools that change things. Read the recipient and wording before you approve.

Office hours, explained

Office hours in Myndy decide when your AI agent answers calls for you:

Office hours switchWhat happens
OnOutside your weekly schedule, your AI agent always answers. During it, your Autopilot setting decides (turning office hours on switches Autopilot off, so you take calls yourself unless you turn it back on).
OffThe schedule is ignored. Autopilot alone decides whether the AI answers.

A few things worth knowing when you change them through Claude:

  • Only the days you mention change. “Close on Saturday” leaves Monday to Friday exactly as they were.
  • Times can be written naturally. 9am, 9:00 AM and 17:30 all work; Myndy stores them as 9:00 AM and 5:30 PM.
  • Timezones can be a city name like America/Chicago or a short code: EST, CST, MST, PST, UTC.
  • Closing time must be after opening time. If it isn't, nothing is saved and Claude tells you why.
  • Changes show up in the dashboard's Office Hours window straight away, and take effect on the next call.

Settings you can change

update_settings covers the same switches as the Myndy app's communication settings. Only what you ask for changes.

SettingWhat it doesGood to know
Connected agentWhich AI agent answers your calls and textsPick from list_agents; disconnecting turns AI answering off
AutopilotAI answers calls, texts and website chat at all timesNeeds a connected agent
Text reply delayWait 5–30 seconds before the AI replies to a textFeels more natural to customers
Call recordingRecords callsCan't be turned off while AI call summaries are on
AI call summariesSummary and transcript for calls you take yourselfTurns recording on
Call forwardingForwards incoming calls to another phoneNeeds a number with country code, e.g. +15551234567
Email notificationsEmails you about missed calls and new texts, with an hourly limitLimit 0 means no limit
Missed-call text-backTexts callers you missed during office hoursMessage up to 320 characters; empty restores the default

If a change isn't allowed, for example turning recording off while summaries are on, nothing is saved and Claude tells you why.

Example conversations

Security and privacy

Can

  • Read and change office hours, timezone and the office hours switch
  • List your SMS conversations and read a thread
  • Send a text from your Myndy number
  • Change settings: connected agent, Autopilot, recording, forwarding, notifications, missed-call text-back

Cannot

  • See other workspaces, or workspaces shared with you
  • Delete contacts, conversations or call recordings
  • Create, edit or delete AI agents
  • Change billing, phone numbers or team members
  • See your password or your other API keys
Every connection is limited to one workspace and this list. Revoke the key in Tools → API keys to cut it off.
  • One workspace per connection. The connector can only reach the workspace you chose when signing in. To manage another one, add the connector again under a different name (for example Myndy – Downtown) and pick the other workspace.
  • A dedicated key, visible to you. Signing in creates an API key named after your app, for example Claude (MCP connector). It appears in Tools → API keys in Myndy and is limited to office hours, conversations, messages, your phone numbers and communication settings.
  • Your password stays with Myndy. Claude only receives a sign-in token that expires after an hour and is renewed in the background. Myndy stores tokens hashed and your connector key encrypted.
  • Claude asks before acting. Claude asks for your approval before tools that change data, unless you've told it to always allow a tool.
  • Your conversations with Claude follow Anthropic's privacy terms. Data Claude reads through the connector (for example a text thread) becomes part of that chat.

Disconnect

There are two ways, and you can use both:

WhereWhat it does
Claude → Settings → Connectors → Myndy → Disconnect / RemoveClaude stops using the connector and forgets its token.
Myndy → Tools → API keys → revoke the “… (MCP connector)” keyCuts access from Myndy's side immediately, even if the connector is still added in Claude.

Revoking the key is the surest way to cut access, for example if you've lost a laptop that was signed in to Claude. To use the connector again afterwards, remove it in Claude and connect again.

Troubleshooting

If you sign in another way

The connector supports email and password and Google today.

  • Apple sign-in: set a password with Forgot password on the Myndy login page using the same email, then sign in to the connector with it.
  • Email code: same as above, set a password first.
